Hope Along the Way

I must admit that I feel a great sense of responsibility when I write these blogs. I feel I must write something extraordinary – something that will have some fabulous impact on your life.  This may be one of the reasons so much time passes between blogs.  The purpose of the blog, however, is to connect with you.  This is an excellent tool to use to communicate with anyone who wants to know what is happening at Christian Recovery Counseling and what the Lord is doing through this ministry. It’s also an excellent way to let you know how to pray for the ministry of Christian Recovery Counseling.  So, with that in mind, I have some great stuff I want to tell you about! (Note: I do realize that was bad grammar, but I’m going to allow myself to go with it!)

Like individuals, ministries need others for support, encouragement and camaraderie. It is very easy to get focused on our own goals within our own walls and forget that there may be so many opportunities to serve right around us.  I have seen this happen in my own life, so I want to be sure that does not happen with Christian Recovery Counseling.  Lately, I have felt prompted to reach out to other Christian, nonprofit organizations. I am certain that there are many more people that CRC can serve and I want to be sure we are making ourselves available to those who need us most.  This outreach has lead me to learn about some wonderful people God has put into place to help the under-served in our communities.  I am astounded by the number of people who serve those who are homeless, addicted to drugs or alcohol, in need of food for their families, transitioning from prison life to civilian life or who have become victims of domestic abuse. So many of these people are in need of professional, Christian counseling to help them find freedom and healing from the impact of physical, sexual and emotional abuse.  It is so good to know that there are many people who are doing just what Jesus has told us to do! (Note: I strongly encourage you to read Matthew 25:34 – 40 to see how much value Jesus places on serving those in need).

Connecting with these ministries has been so encouraging!  We all have to overcome similar obstacles, have similar prayer requests and share similar victories.  If you haven’t already, read the blog just prior to this one to see how the Lord is using our ministries, together, to positively impact the lives of our mutual clients.  So far, I haven’t named these other ministries, but I’m very excited to share their names with you.  Please stay tuned to this blog to learn about the wonderful things God is doing through His ministries and what those ministries are!  Being more familiar with these organizations has helped me know better how to pray for them, and it has shown me how CRC can offer to even more people Hope Along the Way.
