Help CRC Meet a $50,000 Matching Grant!

It has become so clear to me that the Lord does not mean for us to travel this journey alone.  He has given each of us different gifts, talents, passions and resources so that we can do so much more together. The men, women and children who come to CRC for counseling have made the decision to reach out to someone for help.  This can be a difficult decision to make, especially when it means sharing the darkest, scariest experiences of your life with another person. Living through abuse is hard enough – to then have to have to drudge up the memories again can be painful and exhausting. It can be a difficult road that leads to hope, healing and freedom; however, it should never be walked alone. That’s why Christian Recovery Counseling is here. However, we know we cannot do this alone, either. We need your help.

Christian Recovery Counseling turns no one away due to an inability to pay – no one. CRC has begun an additional outreach to the homeless, as well.  Sadly, many people who have experienced physical, sexual and emotional abuse end up on the streets, unable to provide for themselves or their families.  Organizations such as Dorothy Day, The Dwelling Place, Union Gospel Mission and Naomi Family Residence work tirelessly to provide food, shelter, clothing, education and job skills to the many people who come to their doors asking for help. No one, however, can be all things to all people. CRC sees that we can begin to fill a gap that exists in the area of mental health and Christian counseling in the service to the homeless.  What CRC has learned from these organizations is that there is a huge need for Play Therapy. Children who experience trauma, such as they would from physical, sexual and emotional abuse, neglect and seeing their mother severely beaten do not know how to process this trauma. Play Therapy provides young children the ability to process and communicate their experiences as well as express their feelings in a way that works best for them.

CRC would like to open an office in downtown St. Paul with individual therapy offices as well as a state of the art Play Therapy room which would include all the necessary toys, an art therapy section and a family therapy room. This office also will need a group therapy room so that CRC can provide support in the areas of domestic violence, parenting skills and abuse recovery. A very generous anonymous donor has offered CRC a matching grant of $50,000!  Help us meet this matching grant, so CRC can open a downtown location to serve those striving to leave a life of homelessness while continuing to serve those in financial need in our Golden Valley and Rockford locations. To donate and help CRC meet its matching grant, simply click on the donate button above, or you can mail a check to Christian Recovery Counseling 8441 Wayzata Blvd, Suite 160 Golden Valley, MN  55426.  Thank you so much for helping us be better together!

Please read our newsletters to learn more about the positive impact your donation and the services of CRC have had on the lives of many.
