CRC Reaches Out to the City!

Event Date:
May 2nd, 2011

Christian Recovery Counseling is reaching out to other nonprofits in the Twin Cities to gain a better understanding of the needs of those who are homeless and in transition out of homelessness.  We have learned that the need is great and immediate. CRC is praying about the possibility of opening an inner-city office. In the mean time, however, we have begun a couple programs that have come about due to our connections with other nonprofit ministries that serve those in greatest need.  The first program we are providing is a group for adult women who have survived childhood sexual abuse. CRC is providing this modified Becomers class for a group of women at a shelter in St. Paul.  Because we are not providing this class on-site at CRC, we are unable to bill insurance for this group. CRC is able to provide this service because of the generosity of those who financially support this ministry.  CRC also is providing a parenting class at this same shelter. This very important and essential class also is funded by the donations of our supporters. We are so grateful to have this opportunity to serve those who have been hurt so terribly and are in such great need.

A third program that CRC is offering is a domestic abuse group for men called Authentic Hope.  This group will be  held at CRC's Golden Valley location and will begin Wednesday, October 5th. The purpose of this group is to help men who have committed domestic violence and wish to stop.  The goals of the group include: reduce incidences of family violence; strengthen family structures; provide necessary steps toward physical, emotional and financial protection; and provide Christ-centered support to facilitate spiritual healing.  CRC anticipates that it will begin the Authentic Hope group for women who have experienced domestic violence in early 2012.

CRC desires to reach out to those in greatest need.  We pray for the Lord's leading on where He would like us to serve and for His provision so we can continue serving.  Your prayer and financial support is greatly appreciated.
