Jeanette Vought / PhD LP LMFT LICSW
Clinical Director and Founder
Jeanette is the Founder and Clinical Director of CRC with over 25 years of experience in the field of recovery from physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Along with Lynn Heitritter she co-authored Helping Victims of Sexual Abuse (1989, Bethany House Publishers) and authored Post-Abortion Trauma: 9 Steps to Recovery (1991, Zondervan Publishing). Jeanette sees clients from all disciplines of the mental health field; however, her specialty remains adult survivors of sexual abuse. Jeanette sees clients in CRC's Golden Valley and Rockford locations.
Brian Nelson / MA LP
Brian is a Licensed Psychologist in CRC's Golden Valley location. For adolescents, he specializes in Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Depression and Anxiety. He also works with marriage and family conflicts, parenting issues, domestic abuse, and sexual addiction. He also sees clients who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Obsessive Compulsory Disorder (OCD). Some tools Brian uses in his practice are EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Psychological Testing, and Theophostics.
Deanne Shaw / MA LMFT
Deanne is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in CRC's Rockford location. She provides individual, group and family therapy with children, adolescents and adults. She is experienced in working with children who have emotional and behavioral difficulties such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, parent-child conflict(s), and school and juvenile correction issues. She is experienced in assisting couples and families work through challenges in their lives including relationship issues, mental illness, abuse and/or grief and loss. Deanne's education and therapeutic approach utilizes family systems theory, with a strong focus on experiential, solution-focused and narrative concepts.
Matthew Zamastil / MA LMFT
Matthew is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who sees clients in CRC's Golden Valley and Rockford locations. He received his Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at Bethel University in 2006. He provides individual, group and family therapy for children, adolescents and adults. He is experienced in working with children who have emotional and behavioral difficulties such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, parent-child conflict(s), as well as school and juvenile correction issues. He also works with pre-marital counseling, marriage and family conflicts, parenting issues, domestic abuse, chemical dependency, anger management, sexual addiction and harmful sexual behaviors. Matthew's therapeutic approach utilizes family system's theory and DBT.
Mark Odland / MA LMFT MDiv
Mark is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at CRC’s Golden Valley location. He specializes in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), marriage therapy, family therapy, sexual addiction, depression and anxiety. Mark has received intensive training in EMDR, and has special interest in helping those who have survived traumatic events, been neglected, or experienced emotional, physical or sexual abuse. As a former camp counselor, chaplain and pastor, he also has expertise in matters related to faith and provides Christian counseling to those who desire it. Mark has been trained in play therapy, grief counseling, pre-marital counseling, marriage enrichment, and emotionally-focused couple therapy. He has experience working with a variety of issues including bi-polar disorder, dissociation, attachment issues, anger management, and parent coaching.
Christa Sands / MA LMFT
Christa is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing individual and family therapy with children, adolescents, and adults in CRC's Rockford and Golden Valley locations. She has experience doing in-home and outpatient therapy, helping clients work on a variety of issues including adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, anger management, parent-child conflict, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Autism, and trauma. Christa authored the book Learning to Trust Again (1999, Discovery House Publishers) and is passionate about helping victims of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse discover hope and freedom in their healing journey.
Ellen Simonsen / MA LPCC
Ellen is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who sees clients in CRC’s Golden Valley location. Ellen has experience working with adults who have experienced childhood emotional and sexual abuse. Additionally, she has experience with clients who have committed sexual offenses, clients on probation, and clients re-entering society following incarceration. Ellen also experienced in working with adolescents and adults with developmental and physical disabilities as well as working with parents who are raising children with special needs. She also sees clients who are struggling with adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, other life issues, and long-term mental illness. Ellen has an interest in using DBT to help clients learn valuable life skills and integrates the field of psychology with Biblical faith, seeing every client as valuable in God’s sight.
Beth Lutz / PsyD
Beth holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and sees clients in CRC's Golden Valley location. She works with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages, both individually and within the context of family and marriage counseling. Her areas of specialty include play therapy, parenting skills training, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, eating disorders, and recovery from physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Beth’s other areas of interest include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), spiritual direction, recovery from chemical addictions, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). She follows a Christ-centered approach to counseling, incorporating biblical principles with psychological practices.
Nancy McConkey / MSW LGSW
Nancy has her Masters degree in Social Work and is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker in CRC's Golden Valley location. She has experience doing in-home and outpatient therapy with families working on issues such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Aspberger’s, Anxiety, Chemical Dependency, Adoption, and Depression. Nancy also has training in DBT and Trauma. She has experience working with victims of sexual and emotional abuse. Nancy has an interest in meeting clients where they are spiritually while walking alongside them in their questions of faith. She also provides Christ-centered counseling and is passionate about helping clients identify the core of who they are – the image of our Creator and King. She loves helping clients understand their identity in Christ and how one’s value and worth is found in that.
Tricia Vogelsang / MA
Tricia has her Master’s degree in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy with and emphasis in marriage and family therapy. She sees clients in CRC's Golden Valley location. Tricia has experience working with clients who have been victims of childhood sexual, physical, emotional and ritual abuse. Her experience includes D.I.D. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression and Anxiety. Tricia’s therapeutic approach is one that integrates the intellect of psychology with biblical truth. It is her desire that each client come to know the abundant love of God through his grace and healing power while on the journey of healing. Tricia also enjoys working with couples and she co-leads one of CRC’s DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) groups.
Diane Halverson MA
Diane has a Master’s degree in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy. She sees clients in CRC’s Golden Valley location. Diane has experience working with clients in crisis, residential, in-home, and outpatient settings. Diane enjoys working with individuals of all ages, couples, and families. She has worked with clients on relationship, anger, depression, anxiety, addiction, abuse and other mental and emotional health issues. Counseling from a Christian perspective Diane integrates an Adlerian approach of “seeing with the eyes of another, hearing with the ears of another, and feeling with the heart of another” (A. Adler) with the truth of God’s word.
Colleen Prudhomme / Executive Director
Colleen comes to CRC with a background in business ownership and business to business sales. She graduated from the University of MN Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In her role as Executive Director, it is Colleen’s desire that she be an excellent steward with the funds God provides through donors and counseling revenue. Colleen’s vision for CRC is that it will continue to grow and serve as many people that God sends to CRC for hope, healing and freedom.
Lulu Robinson / Billing Coordinator
Lulu joined CRC staff in late 2009. She has a bachelor’s in Psychology from Northwestern College in St. Paul. Lulu has experience in health insurance and human services. She appreciates being part of an organization where leadership and staff work together to serve every client with compassion and joy.
Shari Sjolund / Client Services Coordinator
Shari joined Christian Recovery Counseling in the summer of 2011. She has a degree in Psychology and Biblical and Theological Studies from Bethel University. Shari is grateful for the opportunity be a part of an organization that is continually striving to live out the message of Christ. She hopes to be a blessing to both the CRC staff and every person who comes through the doors of CRC.
